What is Faces all about?
Over two billion people live on less than $2 a day, every day. This is not right, and nor does it need to be this way. Faces of Another World is born out of the need to challenge such poverty, with our passion being the desire to see more choice for those living in poverty. We are convinced that, where a person has choice, they inherently have dignity; that a major injustice of poverty is the loss of dignity it too often results in.
Faces of Another World brings together a decade of global humanitarian experience, with the technical expertise of business solutions, social enterprise and creative entrepreneurship. Our combined expertise has us thinking, discussing and exploring numerous ways we can increase the ability to choose for those who earn $1 or $2 a day. But we don’t just think and talk: we at Faces do. We have found that change demands alternative business models and unconventional approaches to development and business. It also requires a whole new understanding of innovative solutions to poverty. Our experience has shown us that social enterprises and businesses in more "developed" countries can make countless, simple, and practical decisions to improve their economical effectiveness, while making good 'business sense' and tackling poverty – on a local, national, and international scale.
Why We Exist
Faces of Another World Ltd. exists to find innovative solutions for people living on a dollar or two a day. We do this by facilitating organisations to "translate the space between" in regards to:
- gaps in capacity by providing interim management solutions. Faces provides flexible, capable and experienced staffing solutions to ensure strategies are successful and goals are met.
- gaps in understanding by helping to bridge the language gap between the business & social communities and between theory/policy and practice. Faces provides multi-sector expertise between the aid world and the business world, with experience in programmes, policy, project management, design and evaluation.
- gaps in strategy & operations by holding the dreams of the future in the realities of the present by bringing practical solutions to complex environments. Faces assures a unique viewpoint, the guts to ask difficult questions and find creative solutions, and the invaluable service of delivering the goods.
